Nickerie and Bigi Pan
Situated east of Nieuw-Nickerie are lakes, with Bigi Pan regarded as the biggest one. This lake is home to a number of water-friendly animals, including caymans and an impressive amount of rare birds. Part of this tour will take you to this lake, where you'll be likely to encounter animals you haven't seen before in their natural habitat. The city of Nieuw-Nickerie will also be included in the tour; you will be visiting many places in the city that make up part of Suriname's long and diverse history and culture. The guide will tel you the history of this town. • The ride will than continue further to the coconut city, Coronie, there you see many palm trees, small wooden houses and little white churches. • The next stop will be in New -Nickerie. We will have a walk through the town, which have +/- 8.000 inhabitants. • The night will be spent in one of the hotels. • The following day after breakfast we will sail to the Bigipan nature reserve in a small boat. There you will spot different birds and various other animals. • After the tour through Bigipan we will start our journey back to Paramaribo.
